The Weight of Paper, run by Elena Castro

In this workshop, Elena Castro invites us to consider the intimate relationship that develops with written documents held in personal or historical archives.

We will be handling published and unpublished documents to discover the friendships and relationships involving love, affinity or identification generated in them. We will dwell on book dedications, marks in the margins, the calligraphy and the quality of the paper and of the writing, and how they affect the construct of the authors of these works as imaginary friends.

This activity is part of the season of laboratories, a space for experimentation around issues related to the exhibition Imaginary Friends. This season includes four participatory activities, led by local artists and researchers, that revolve around the imagination in some of our most personal environments: the museum, the mirror, the book and the internet.
